Hi all,

My dad had an accident with a stanley knife (ouch!) and sliced vertically down his finger, through his nail plate. It's starting to heal, but the two halves are overlapping slightly and he's catching it all the time.

Would it be safe to apply an L+P overlay to protect the natural nail until it grows out? I'm worried the product may irritate the wound, although it isn't raw anymore (he did it 1 month ago). Or would it be better to apply a tip and file down the length? Or is it not safe to do either?

Just wanted to ask for advice, any is appreciated!

Cheers :)

If was done over a month ago & is not sore or tender in anyway, I would overlay it with L&P, just a thin one so it will stop the catching.
Be sure to totally clean the nail and use scrubfresh or similar to cleanse before application.
Just looked at your profile & see you use Salon Systems - so use their nail & file antiseptic spray once you've done your prep before application - be sure to let it dry thoroughly before application.

Oh yes - tell him to be more careful next time:lol::hug:
