Hi there.
in regards to your question and in particular the money issue, ie, finding some good products that wont cost lots, you could try the 'clean start' range by dermalogica.
these prodcuts are very reasonably priced so could be a good option for you.
they are aimed at teens in particular so they can sort out lots of issues that teenage skin is faced with.
you can probably find a salon near you that is selling it if you visit dermalogicas website, click on 'buy dermalogica' it will ask you for your postcode and then will list the nearest place to you.
there are lots and lots of good products out there you can try but this is my suggestion to you.
hope this info proves useful for you. :)

have you been to the doctors? I got some dalcin topical lotion to use when I had bad spots, and it cleared them up. hth xx

If you haven't already been to the doctors then make an appointment asap.

A good skin routine will most definetly help and I would also reccommend Dermalogica Clean Start as its aimed at the teen market and is more affordable compared to some salon products. It will help with spots but if you do have acne then the best thing will be medication.

I suffered with bad skin the whole of my teenage years and it took about 3 or 4 years before they referred me to a dermatologist as at the time they had to try several different medications before making a referral. So I spent pretty much most of my school years trying different tablets and lotions trying to sort my skin out.

Thanks for the ideas for the clean start, but these products are still too expensive. Will go to the doctors - seems like the only thing at the moment that can be any use. Thanks anyway :) xx

As Bonbini has mentioned I would advise to go to the doctors. It maybe due to a hormonal imbalance or hereditory. The Doctor might give you cream to help with it but it can dry the skin out, so using good skin care will help. Or they might give you antibiotics to clear up the infections created by the blockage in your pours. Sometimes the spots can com back after you have come off the antibiotics. Unfortunatly this is all due to your hormones hopefully they will eventualy settle. If you have a limited budget for products then i would advise you to avoid products that make your skin feel dry or tight, usually these are produts that have alcohol in and soap. these strip your skin and stimulate your skin to make more oil.

Good Luck with your skin

HTH

First bit of advice I'd give you is ditch the "clearasil" or "clean and clear" if you have anything like that... I remember when I had bad skin and I used to spend a small fortune on all that rubbish, each item probably only cost £3 max but as i was so desperate to clear up the spots i think i probably worked my way through the whole range eventually... promising the world and delivering nothing.

the one product i found that got rid of my spots was MD Formulations Facial Cleanser with Glycolic acid... sounds extreme but it is actually a very gentle exfoliant that help to prevent the build up of dead skin cells that clog pores...

I'm not sayin it will def work for you.... but it was the best £20 I've spent in my life!!!! £20 sounds a lot for a face wash, but i'm not even exageratting i now get complimented on my clear skin... i hope this helps x x x
