Hi guys!!!

Today, the wee trainee stylist wanted me to do a spray tan on her. She has just got back form holiday and has really bad sunburn on her back and her feet. It has also started to peel.

I told her I wasn't happy about spraying over her sunburn, so i just did her front and her face.

I don't think she believed me that the tan might cause a reaction with the sunburn!!!

Did I do right, or was i just talking rubbish!!!???

Hi,
I wouldn't have tanned her sunburn either. As you know, we don't tan on damaged or sensitive skin - that's what sunburn is.
You did right. She was probably miffed at the time, but she's a junior and (in time) will respect your professionalism.

The skin has been damaged and needs time to heal. Never spray on sunburn, rashes or unhealed surgical incisions.

The other big problem with spraying over sunburn is when her skin starts peeling, the spray tan is going to come off with it so she will end up a patchy mess.
