Hello all, I'm a newbie :green:

I am booked onto a CND foundation course + Spa and am really looking forward to it, but have a question which I can't seem to find an answer to and would appreciate any help!!

For many years I have had slight yellow staining on the ends of my big toe nails (both feet but only my big toes and at the end - has never spread to any other toes or to my hubby or anything) - to be honest I've never given it much thought as I thought it was just slightly discoloured so would paint over it and problem solved - I never liked my feet "bare"!
But after researching into nails etc am wondering if it is staining how can I get rid of it, or even worse if it is a fungus? How can I tell the difference? Was wondering about using either Bicarb of soda or Hydrogen peroxide mix to see what happens but didn't want to risk making it worse!!

Being as I am booked on Spa Man/ped course I don't want to have to get my feet out on course and be embarrassed about the state of my big toes!

Many thanks in advance for any help!!!

Hi,
From what you are saying it sounds like a stain from polish, If it hasnt spread and you have had it for a while then I dont think it is likely to be a fungus, but then I could be wrong without seeing them.
Could you possibly post a picture so we can see?
Is it under the free edge of the nail or on top of the nail?
Do you use a good quality base coat? Good quality polish?
Could be that when you have your shoes on they rub against those 2 toes and the colour gets pushed into the nail plate more.
Try and post a picture as I said.
If all else fails ask them when you go and do your course they will have a much better idea as they can see them first hand.
There is a product called Nail Brite than CND sell that removes nail polish stains easily and safely

Thanks for your reply - it's only on the top, I always thought it was a polish stain - especially as I've been known not to use a base coat and buy bright any old polish - also the shoe rubbing thing is v likely as am always in pointy toed high heeled type shoes and or boots :o

I thought about posting a pic but then wondered if that would be gross!!!!
Might try and do that?
