Startup Cost!? :)

Hi all, I know it is hard to put an exact amount on what start up costs are for a salon or room. We know theres the rent, water, elect etc. But I think there are alot of us out there who are just quite scared of opening a new salon because of not knowing enough about start up costs. This is a grey area I feel. So my question is..to shed more light if poss....what is the absolute minimum anyone has ever opened their salon/ room with? And tell us what your start up costs were if costs weren't minimum. How much did you have of back up in terms of money.

Hi Kate,

It's very difficult to answer because it depends so much on the type of salon/room your trying to open. If you want a room with just one nail station then I guess you could get easily started with less than £1K. However if you want a big salon with all the 'bells and whistles' then I guess the sky's the limit!
