Hi Girls,
I sent my airgun off to a guy up north who i found on the internet, i purchased it via ebay with him a year or so ago, i then sent it to him for repair about 8 months ago, it got sent back to me fine!!
I sent it to him again about a month ago, he called to say he'd got it and ever since i havent heard from him, iv emailed, iv called my no response, iv noticed on ebay , that he has been taking peoples money over the last couple of weeks too without sending the goods. What can i do. I have the proof of purchase... the guy lives in Leeds, im in Essex....help??? xx

contact ebay ??

i think this is the problem with ebay, you do have to be quite trusting and some people just abuse that trust for financial gain.

well my only problem is that i didnt do this particular transaction through ebay, i merely sent it off for repair, i can see how this would be a little naieve, but i had no reason to suspect as he has repaired it before.... i am going to write a letter, but i dont know if the threat of a small claims would work. ?

You obviously have the guys name and addy so I would contact his local police station explain the situation and hopeful they will be able to get your gun back.

Who is the seller so people can be aware just incase they are thinking of buying from him?

its not going to hurt....you could try to spook him a bit by saying you will contact the police if you don't receive some form of communication within the next 7 days.

i have a feeling though that you might have to put this one down to experiance.....hey do you think he has moved home..??

We had something similar to this sometime ago.

We purchased a mobile phone through bank transfer and it was never sent, we contacted ebay and got back £105 only, the phone was £450 and that was cheap.

I think what Lelli has suggested is a great idea, we too contacted the police and they went round to where the guy lived to question him, unfortunately for us there were about 10 somalian people living in that property and although they acknowledged that he lived there once, they said he'd moved on.

The police will take it seriously, give them a call and as Angie says email him first and tell him he has 3 days to respond, he may have a personnal dilemna so I think you need to give him a chance but I would say no longer than 3 days.

HTH Teri x:hug:
