Thanks Geeg for the timing info re allergic reactions. The timing just about fits with the first symptoms I experience, but after removing the test nails, things got worse. It doesn't seem to make any difference whether I gently buff off or soak off.
Re the patch test, I know its not a proper patch test, but I find that the inside of my forearm is a good area to see it something will irritate me. But as I expected Solar oil provokes no reaction at all. I've used it for many years for many things and its fantastic stuff.
Thanks 'chelle for suggesting I pm Amythest_Angel I'm going to do that now.
I dunno about you but I found soaking off seemed to make my condition worse (probably all that time sitting around with fingers soaking in chemicals!).
Anyhoos... I did find that even after soaking off it took my poor skin a wee while to recover. Just taking it away from the irritant didn't have an instant effect. It took time for the reaction to go away (and for my skin to grow back!). I have found Eumovate very good for making my symptoms go away and I can also recommend Sudocream (sp?). It's also quite nice to make a little 'moisture pack' with lashings of Eumovate or Sudocream and a drizzle of solar oil over the cuticles then bob on some cotton gloves! Lovely! It also makes your skin feel baby soft when you take the gloves off. :green:
Hope that helps!
