I have a regular client that seems to have very strong brow hair. When I apply wax to the outer area (below arch) the wax seems to stick quite well and remove the hair but the inner area of the brow is difficult to wax.

The hairs on the inner brow are very close together and coarse. When I apply wax and remove using the strip method, hardly any hairs come off!
I cannot go over the area again so I try and tweeze what I can. Problem is, this client hates tweezing and would like me to avoid it at all costs!

I have done a course on non strip wax but am not that confident with it yet, not sure if this wax would be better? I worry with the "hot" wax that it will burn the client, even though I test on myself first! I guess I just need to practice with it more.

So in a nutshell, does anyone have any tips on waxing a client like this.

Thanks.

p.s. she is coming tomorrow night.

I love hot wax hun and although its called Hot wax, it should be no where near hot enough to burn your client. I think hot wax would be much better for this client:) x x

Hot wax is the old fashioned term. The newer waxes are called non strip (or similar) and they are warm. Try using Perron Rigot 'Euroblonde' on her brows and you will be amazed. Just dab it on the brow, don't sweep it on the way you do strip wax (warm wax). xxx

Thanks, how would you describe the consistency of your hot wax when you apply it, e.g. like paint, honey? If it is too runny would that suggest it is too hot? Should it just be soft enough to be able to be spread on the skin?

Sorry for all the questions, I really need to give myself a kick up the bum and start using the hot wax, it's the only way I will get the confidence. I used it yesterday on my own face and I went pinker than normal so I think that has put me off, again!

Don't let that put you off hun!! Once you get the hang of it, you will love it. I work with my hot wax about 60°C. Its quite thick still, and not to runny as this is when it gets to hot and messy! Did you put talc on your skin hun before you waxed yourself? x x

No I used oil as this was how we were taught on the perron rigot course. I wonder if talc might be best for this client though, it may help?

Thanks for the advice xxx

I was taught to apply talc against the hair growth hun as it helps to protect the skin. Give this a try, hopefully it will help! Let me know how you get on x x

Where did you do your training?

The Euroblonde should be the same consistency as a thick yoghurt. It shouldn't be able to run off your spatula but it should be warm enough to move about. The centre of the wax in the pot should be quite solid with the outer edge soft.

Don't go back to using talc, use the Jasmine oil. xxx

Are you sure that the client hasn't got oily skin as the nearer to between the eyes you get you will find the skin can get quite oily. Make sure you have cleansed the area well before applying your oil very very sparingly. The hard wax should not be hot and you will, with practice, find it much easier to control than strip wax.

We all have our own application methods where certain body parts are concerned and I am different to Kim in that I will apply it just like I would with a strip wax.

Well client came and this time I applied talc as I was going on the theory that the skin was oily in that area. Unfortunately this made little difference.

It would appear that that wax just sticks to the hair but because the hairs are so close together I can't get the wax to the root and very little comes off. Hope this makes sense! I ended up tweezing this bit again.

I will practice with the non strip wax and if feeling confident will try this next time.

Thanks for all your replies. x
