STUNG LIKE MAD :( Is this right, confused.com!

[Beautification]

I have a tub of simple professional lavender & collogen face mask,
put it on before and its tingled a bit thought it was quite cool must be working and was all exited!

tonight i cleansed deep cleansed exfoliated and applied the mask(missed out massage and steam as was just doing myself a small facial.

Anyway ohmygod. it stung lke mad i can't explain it.
Could it be as my pores were open, if so, what do i do when a client chooses this face mask in their facial, i was taught to cleanse, deep cleanse, exfoliate, massage, steam and then face mask.this is for a maxi facial obvs.

But i couldn't ever do that to someone it was just awful, does anyone have any ideas???

It could be a variety of things. The mask maybe too harsh for your skin, or too harsh in general, you could have reacted to one or more of the ingredients.

Have you tried the mask on any friends or family? If so how did they react?

Maybe try contact the company and ask for direct advice on the product and whether it should have a tingling/stinging effect? Doesn't sound ideal for a client.

I've had a mask sting before but it was a mild glycolic acid one and was meant to sting a bit. I was fine afterwards.

How was your skin after the treatment?

My skin was the same as it is after all facials.

I've used it on 4 people the same on all.

I've just given it to my mum..lol
