I've just seen a 'friend' posting on Facebook stating that she is now a mobile therapist specialising in nails and tans with 9 years experience (don't know where all this supposed experience has come from) but the bit I don't understand is
"Book now for a full body spray tan for £10."
"Or book a party of 5, the 'booker' will receive free spray tan and all ladies will revive free manicure or pedicure"
That's £40 for 5 tans and manicures??
I am re-training with Nouvatan within the next couple of weeks, and I am offering a discounted £15 spray tans for first 10 customers to gain more practice.
Am I expecting too much regarding prices, or in your opinion is she too cheap?
I think surely if you're selling yourself short you're selling the profession short. Not to mention she's started sidling in on my clients .eg.
"Hi Sam, could you fit me in for a Mani/pedi this week? Just realised I have a wedding on Saturday and need a colour swap" (regular)
"How about Thursday Afternoon, 3pm"
(Me)
"Hi there, ....... I could fit you in anytime on Friday. Less chance of chipping if you have it day before. I also offer spray tans for £10 if you'd like a summer glow aswell" (said 'friend')
That was actually the bit that annoyed me the most. Not to mention my client has shellac so no chance of chipping regardless of one or two days before.
Sorry this has turned into a bit of a long rant... And breathe.
