A work collegue of mine has had a full set of L&P nails put on from her regular nail tenchnician. Her fingers are swollen and are very itchy with tiny lumps and bumps. My collegue called and asked the nail technician if the products she has use have changed since the last time she had done her nails, and replied she still used the same.
Do you think it could be something to do with the top coat or the actual acrylic???? Hands dont look great at all.:irked:

Sounds to me like she's starting to suffer from an allergy to the products. This can happen if people have sensitive skin, although some people are unlucky enough that this just seems to happen to them. Reactions to products can just build up over time so even if you think that you're not allergic to the products initially it might eventually happen after regular use.

I have the exact same reaction to l&p enhancements (and now to a lesser extent to gels ). The only thing I would suggest is getting them removed. Sorry.

This was my thoughts, although it is always best to get some advice. In all the time i have done nails i have never come across a reaction like this. Manythanks for the information and will advice them to be reoved asap.

hi
had exactly the same reaction as ur friend when i first started wearing and doing gel nails. as the previous person said u can build up a reaction to the products also sometimes if a person has a cut or broken skin on the hands or arms the dust and product can get into the system causing a reaction. my doctor told me i had contact dermatitis and recommonded a hydrocortison cream( but this is only my doc, make sure ur friend see,s a prof before taking my advice) also had to remove my enhancements for a while but that was years ago and although i had one reacurring outbreak i,v been fine ever since and wear and do enhancements with no trouble at all. hth
