This is a difficult one and you need to do some in house reserch first...what another salon sells well doesnt mean it will sell well with you.
So ....ask your customers what they think..if it looks good purchase one of each retail item from your chosen brand..show these to your customers and use as testers....if this phase works then invest in a small quantity of stock holding and again see how it goes.

Some brands :wink2: offer free promotional flyers for their retail items which means you can stimulate intrest before investing in large stock holding.

Retailing is a good means of introducing additional revenue stream into your buisness without increasing your operating costs however do take it step by step as you do not want to be left with loads of stocks you have paid for that are sitting on your shelves.

I retail all the Tantrick prep and after care products to the clients that are parting with their money at the mo,
they look, feel and smell great, hth

I was wondering the same thing. I only offer manual tanning but if you retail the tannning lotion, surely they would be less likely to come back to you?!

mmmm manual applied tanning may be a little diferent to spray tan applied methods in that retailing may work against you.

That said most retail items are for pre and post care so doesnt take away any buisness from you.

Even retailing of tan in a can type products wont effect your buisness as these are not for full body applications and just for topping up to areas where the customer may want a slightly darker tone to those areas which fade faster...or of course to take away on holiday etc

I retail Sienna products, I stock the small sachets of moisturiser and exfoliator, the large bottles of moisturisers and exfoliator and sprays of glitter and tan in a can. I also carry some body puff things for exfoliating in the shower just incase someone wants to buy one from me, I make sure they are pink to go with the rest of the range lol

The do sell and the people who buy them always come back for more but I also have clients that dont want to buy anything and I dont push them at all, I just casually ask 'are you ok for moisturisers?' and take it from there.

I sell the Fake Bake silky smoothing stuff with every new tanning client I do. I tell them that it helps to prolong the life of their tan, and stops their skin getting dry. They always seem to buy one!
