Hiya,
Since taking off my bio gel overlays (now over a week ago) as in the process of moving.
I caught my thumb the other day whilst emptying the dishwasher and have now got a tear in my thumb nail going up from the free edge . Ive filed it down so there is no free edge and the crack is now very minimal.
Shall i tip it to stop the tear going further? i have also filed my other nails down quite short .
Any advice as it hurts when catch it. Its a mini V really.
Thanks

I dont know what bio is like but ive used fiberglass mesh on a few nails and then shellac and it really held well,
and stoped it catching,

I just did basically the same thing a couple weeks ago--OUCH! I feel for you! I also filed all my nails down and did the fiberglass over the torn area and then put Gelish over the whole lot. It's doing much better now, the tear has grown to the edge of my nailbed and it is still not catching on anything. I am keeping the Gelish on them, just as a little added protection while they grow.

If I break a nail I NEVER file or cut the nail down ... Oh I couldn't bear it.

I have a permanent vertical split at the side of my thumb nail so ........... I just apply a small L&P patch ... smooth it out and put my Shellac over the top and no one would ever know the difference. Lasts and lasts until with regular filing I go past the patch and then have to do it again. Never lifts, never flakes and you just can't see it is there.

Thankyou. Ive just cheated and done a silk repair and then put a tip on. Yet to do the rest of my nails so it looks tad odd right now. But thanks everyone for your help.
