Hi ya
Just wondered if i have done any thing wrong? I had a client for a pedicure and Hollywood toes on the 16th Dec, did everything I was taught, client very happy, went away for over a month, saw her today 20th Feb and said that some of the gel had cracked, and nail looked bruised underneath, I asked her if it did looked bruised, said couldnt recall knocking her toe....
Please help meeee.....

Hello choochy face,
If the nail looks bruised it probably is bruised.
If I had tuppence for every patient I saw with a bruising under a toe-nail who said "oh no, I definitely haven't knocked it, it just appeared" I'd be a very rich person.
Unless you shut her finger in the door on the way out of the salon  I can't see how it can be your fault.
Unfortunately this type of bruising takes a while to grow out. If there has been trauma to the nail plate then sometimes it will separate from the bed (onycholysis)
Suggest she keep an eye on it (you as well) and if it starts to cause any problems such as lifting the situation will need to be reviewed.

Hope that helps.

LOL! The nail has a crack and there's a bruise underneath!?! Yeah that sounds exactly like someone bashed their toe and 'didn't remember'. I infact, still half asleep, stubbed my toe really good the other morning. It got more swollen and painful throughout the day to the point where I didn't want to move it and I had totallly forgotten what I'd done and thought I'd sprained my toe just by sitting on it wrong or something. It took me until the next day to remember what I'd done.
