what exactly is a "top up" as I thought you should not spray over an already existing tan? and also why would you need a top up? do you charge the same amount or different? if you charge lower amount surely it would take you the same time and petrol to set up the scene

There are many therapists who offer a "top up" facility with customers whereby they charge £xx for the first full tan and then 5 days later a reduced rate of£x for a top up.

Providing the cycle is broken now and again and that ongoing maintenance regimes are undertaken there really isn't a problem with offering this service.
As you have quiet rightly identified it is perhaps less suited to mobile therapists who need to travel and set things up so it does tend to be a service offered by therapists operating from a fixed base(salon or home)
