Unopened gel polish expiry?

Hi All,
I'm new to this but I could use some help or advice.
I'm trying to build my gel polish collection ready to start my own home-based business but I'm currently on a low wage so just buying a few gel polishes here and there but my question was can they expire even if they are unopened and unused?

My brand says 12 months but during lock down, on my own nails ive been using old stock and I have to say i used one I've had for 3 years to see how well it would do and its 2 weeks tomorrow I've only got one tiny chip, maybe because I'm stuck in the house bored BUT I wouldn't use this gel on a client so professionally I would say 12 months but check with the manufacturer of your brand xx

You should find this symbol on the product label. 12M means the product is good for 12 months after opening.
