hi there does anybody know if you can use any acrylic powders i.e glitter or coloured with uv liquid monomer that you cure under a uv light? i recently did a refresher course using a new system where you use l & p but then you cure under a uv light. was only shown using clear pink or white and was just wondering if i can use my other acrylic stock (colours etc.)

thanks for ny advice

Never mix systems

Each brand product is designed to work with it's own chemistry formula - none are safely able to be mixed, even if it 'appears' to be working you don't ever know for sure.

Remember if it 98% cures then that is 2% uncured and capable of leading to an allergic reaction from overexposure... food for thought

If the uv liquid monomer company has powders then these are the ONLY ones you should use with the monomer - and if they tell you to use anything else then that is not an ethical answer.

Hope that helps

I would have thought that this type of system would have the l&p specifically designed to work together...i.e this type of liquid needs this type of powder to work/cure.
It's to early for me to start thinking along the science route .
Never a good idea to mix systems anyway.

UV has a different chemical make-up and I have never heard of coloured UV powders so I would use clear powder (dont know much bout UV's is it only the liquid that is different or l&p?) and add my glitter in at a 1:4 ratio, I usually mix 1:3 so an extra measure just to keep the ratio more like the correct one. The only thing is that at 1:4 you would prob need to make a bigger amount to get the depth you may be after.

Question. How long have you been using UV L&p and why would you not 'cross over' for coloured/glitter nails?
