I've decided to add a short DVD to each of my training manuals showing the routine.
I've looked at getting the videos shot professionally, and unless I was going to sell them, it would be far to expensive to do as I teach 14 courses at the moment.

I've got a really old video camera, so was thinking of buying a new one, I just want to be able to rig it up on a tripod, press record and then be able to edit it on my laptop. it doesn't have to be fantastic, just as a learning aid, and I wouldn't be charging extra for it.

so geeks, anyone got any recommendations? Was thinking about £200.

For ease of transferring the recorded video onto a PC, I'd be inclined to get one that records onto memory cards, e.g. SD (Secure Digital) or Compact Flash. Would need to look into this further in terms of recommending a specific brand and model though. However, we've been particularly impresed with the quality of Panasonic Lumix digital still cameras, of which many feature high quality video recording too (and they also record to SD card to boot) - the only down side we've found so far though is that you can't zoom during the filming of video for some reason. But if Panasonic do a reasonably priced digital video camera that records to SD and doesn't have that limitation, then it might well be worth looking at...

righto, that sounds good. If I was just going to press record and then do it, it doesn't really need to zoom, but its strange that that facility isn't available as surely thats a basic function!

will have a lookie, I get totally daunted by the choices but good point about SD thingy. cool! thanks Ruth, have you been making a good old english?

Well, the Panasonic Lumix camera we have was designed primarily as a stills camera, with the video functionality as a bonus, I guess - so maybe they put most of their effort onto getting the quality sussed for still photos (even though the image quality on video is fab too).

Whereas if you bought a dedicated video camera, then most of the effort would have gone into getting the video up to scratch.

We're both really lazy on a Sunday morning, so breakfast probably won't be for another hour or so yet lol...

I think I just saw that panny lumix thingy in tesco for under £200. It looked good.

just been to PC World, Currys, Tesco and Argos to price things up and am totally overcome! Am fanning myself and sniffing smelling salts as I type.

The good new is, tripods are cheap!

Still not got one! some of them come with u-tube uploading systems too.
