hi all
just a quick question. When you have heated mitts and booties do you have to cover the hand in was first or can you just put bags on the hands and put them in the heated mitts and booties. Just something that feels soothing and nice. Sorry if this is a stupid question:smack:

You can apply wax or hand creams then cover the hands with cling film or plastic bags then put the hands in.

if you just use wax then can you just use plain booties and mitts and not heated ones:rolleyes:

You can use paraffin wax, treatment creams, masques or plain old carrier oil!

this isnt making much sense to be honest as I read it. But if I am getting it right then you dont have to use heated booties or mitts it's just a nicer treatment I use a warmed towel as I havent been able to purchased heated boots/mitts yet, The idea is just to keep the hands or feet warm while the wax is on. I cover the hands or feet in cling film before i place them in the towel. hths

I do Spa manicures, with and without wax.

I don't use heated mitts or booties and have never felt the need. By the time the client is in a plastic bag and then in a towelling mitt/bootie heat is trapped and it does the job fine.

Just my personal opinion:)

I use warm towels with paraffin wax, after placing the hands in plastic bags and use the heated mitts with creams or oils..xx

me too im a bit confused hun by what you mean.
If i am doing a heated mitt/boot treatment i will put bags over the hand/foot then cover them with a not heated/mitt boot (looks kind of like a flannel) and place them in the heated mitt/boot.
Hope ive took this the right way xxx

This is my steps to paraffin:

1. Exfoliate with an oil-based salt scrub
2. apply a thin layer of warm lotion
3. dip hand in paraffin 2-3 times (depending on this thickness of the paraffin)
4. wrap in plastic or paraffin protectors
5. slip in a heated glove and let sit for 5-10 minutes.

The only reason I use a heated glove on the hands is because I use one during my manicures anyway. So there's no real extra expense and the cleints like it. But this isn't absolutely neccessary and that's why I don't go to the added trouble to do this on the feet.

Hope that helped some. :)
