What wax would you recommend for a student on a budget? Is Gigi any good? I have had problems with waxes I have used in the past as they have a tendency to break. So Im looking for something pretty good at a good price? Thanks in advance :)

HI, if you have had problems with waxes breaking and becoming brittle then you wanth new generation waxes that set but dont become hard or brittle as long as they are on the skin. There is different companies offering them, if you have a look for Perron Rigot, Berins or Bebeau, they each offer waxes that will remain flexible both as strip (soft /warmwax) or non strip wax (hard or hotwax).

If you're on a budget, go to the wholesalers and but not the cheapest but the next one up. Ask the staff which are the two best sellers and go for the dearer one. xxx

Bebeau is the more economical priced one of the good brands, you can get this from wow products, hth

Sorry, I mis-read your thread slightly. Do you mean the hair is breaking or the wax? Explain and I'll help all I can. xx

thanks for all your replies

Kim, the hot wax is breaking, could this be down to the brand?

Which brand of hot wax are you using? Is it Salon Systems?

Ah! Yes it would be. Generally speaking (but not always), you get what you pay for in life. I would only use Perron Rigot wax but it is one of the expensive waxes and you have to go with what you can afford. xxx

Yeah its Salon Systems... pretty cheap and pretty bad! :)

Thanks for your help :) I checked the price and it does seem to be expensive, is there a brand one down from that would be as good?

If you're looking at cost, I've heard that the Hive hot wax is ok. Not sure of price but you could try BeBeau (get thee behind me Satan :))

It's so misleading as many of the waxes look identical......honey coloured beads. However, it's when you melt and use them that there is no similarity.

What one person thinks is amazing, another thinks is crap. Ask for samples. xxx
