pleasssssssse help!
I had a young client in last week and its really knocked my confidence in my waxing skills. I havent been doing this long, just since last summer. And have had good results with other clients.

Upon consultation the client ticked the box saying she had a form of excema, it left a pink goosebump effect on her thighs and upper arms, but she said she waxes every summer and has never had any problems. Her hair was course and not as long as I would of liked. I waxed her legs and bikini line but was concerned with the bikini as her hair was excessive and long and to be honest it really threw me.

If you had a client like this would you trim the hair first? The hair was in all different directions and covered her whole upper and inner thigh area. When she left I questioned myself and wondered if I should do an advanced waxing course or do clients expect miracles when they only wax once a year?! Plus she was raving about my prices and re-booked I can only assume as I really tried to help her.

your comments would be great, thanks x;)

You should never let a client knock your confidence. You're the expert, not them. If they were that good, they'd be doing themselves at home with a Veet strip.

Ok, onto the bikini line. If the hair was very long, you should have trimmed it. However, I've never seen hair that long on a basic bikini. It's usually as it goes in and onto the labia that it would need trimming.

Of course I would say you should have training in Intimate Waxing because I'm a trainer. However, I believe it's a true skill and one that needs to be mastered. xx

Unlike Kim I have seen long hair on a basic bikini and yes you should have trimmed it first as this would have been more painful for your client.

Having said that, don't let this knock your confidence, be a real pro and get on with the next client that comes along and forget what has gone before.

Every client is different andyes get yourself booked onto an advanced waxing course. I am bound to say this also as I am also a trainer. I am sure you would leave me feeling ready to wax anyone and anything lol.

I too have seen ladies with very long hair on basic bikinis, everyone is different, be prepared for anything then nothing will shock or throw you.:D

The more experienced you get the more situations you will come across and the more prepared and confident you will become.Give a really firm press/rub on your wax strip to get those strong hairs.Make sure you're applying your wax in the correct direction and removing the wax strip in the correct direction also, this helps remove all hairs

It sounds to me as though the client just had a bad reaction to her waxing,if the skin is particularly bad in the future suggest she/he take an anti - histamine as this really does calm things down. They can take prior to the treatment.

Also for particularly strong hair you could use hot wax/non strip wax but you will need training in this and both Kim and Joe are the ladies to see if needed.

I would've trimmed first, this stops the wax from creating a big gongealed mess and makes removal far easier. You can trim yourself or ask the client to trim herself.

thank you all so much for the advice xxx
