I am in the process of doing a website for my mobile biz (with the help of my little bro bless him hehe) and figured that I should have some kind of 'about us' page, or a blurb about me on the front page.

but do I say 'we here at Cupcakes Tanning and Nails provide blah blah blah' or do I say 'my name is Hayley and I provide blah blah blah'?

I'm not really sure which context to write the site in, any ideas geeks?

Are you planning on employing someone in the near future at all? If you are I would go with "we", but also if you use "we" you sound like a larger business than just a one women band.

yeah i would stick with I, and give a introduction about your self.

This is interesting Hayley because it is something I have often wondered when I have looked at other websites...

Often I have seen 'We' when I know that person is a therapist who works alone...

I am interested to know why they put 'We' instead of ' I '

xxxx :D

Go for I hun, I nearly put we and then remembered it's just little ole me:lol:

Thanks for the replies!

I had feared that if I used 'I' that potential clients might think less of me for being like you said a one woman band lol, but from looking at other peoples sites its a bit confusing as theres a mix of both out there.

I'm not planning on employing anyone in the near future so it's just me! :)

just you in the spot light!!

Actually, just an FYI, it has nothing to do with whether you are on your own in your business or there are oodles of you, 'we' is the accepted form of referrring to a business in 'business speak' if you are putting together a formal piece about your business.

So really it would depend on the tone of your website...are wanting a formal, perhaps slightly detached approach, or keep it informal, local and friendly. IMO both have their merits.

god theres sooooooo much to think about! I think I'll stick with the 'I' way of writing, I think it will make life easier for me as my biz (hopefully) grows and my website evolves. Plus I need to make it easier-ish for lil bro as English is not his strong point bless his little heart and I want the site to be consistant...English not my strong point either eh? lol

thanks for the replies geeks! will post a linky to site as soon as it's live!

Id go with WE, because as Lyndsay says, we is a business.
I think also to use WE it flows better!

xxxxx:hug:
