I have read a lot of threads on here that have said they got their client base mainly from word of mouth and haven't had to use any other forms of marketing... would just like to know your opinions on wether it is worth setting one up or not? Would be interesting to know how many of you have had lots of work from it and how many think its just a waste of time and money!

Thanks in advance!

I think a website is a must!
Most people look on the net now when wanting to book appointments.
I have a webalizer thingy for me so i can see how many visits i've had a day and what people are searching for etc...
My website is relatively new and at the moment i have about 25 visits a day. That's 750 visitors a month! Well worth it in my my opinion.

I get about 50-60% of new clients from my website. It's like an ad in the local newspaper - except it works 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and can provide your clients with lots of info before they have to call you. It'd be Sooooo last century to ignore the power of this cheap tool. You don't have to spend a fortune - just make sure you are spending money on a recommended web person or tool. Look up Ruth here and she'll point you in the right direction. Ruth. Ruth! Where are you my lovely?

Business may come by word of mouth but that doesn't mean that after someone told them about you they didn't then go to the computer to look you up. You definitely need a website.

You definitely, definitely need a website. If you are thinking about going ahead, contact Ruth and Carl, they really are the dog's doodahs - so knowledgeable, so helpful and so blooming quick!

Take care, MrsMac

Having a business card to hand out and a website to refer people too makes your business professional.
It costs about £36 a year to have your own website i dont think that is too much to ask for.

Thanks for your replies,

Who did you all do your websites through and how much does it cost? can you edit them regularly? xxx
