I've always been told to use 6% with reds as this stops them fading too much. I have a lady with a base 4/0-5/0 who has a few slices of colour usually I use 66/46 with 6%. Do you think it will be much brighter if I use 9%? I dont want it to fade out and go orangy though.

Thanks :)

it will be brighter but it will fade and go coppery! why dont you put some mix tone red in with it for a boost!

using 9 is overkill, it is still only a base of 6, u do not need that amount of lift. using nine will burn out the colour and the cuticle will be left impaired and further fading will occur, remember u only need to refresh the ends n midlenghts, dont re tint them every time or ur jus constantly subjecting the hair to further damage which will equal mopre fading. lif tthe roots with the 6 and colour level the ends with a diluted colour, it will hold longer that way x
