Hi, read some of the posts on advertising and loved the posts on referrals instinctive £5.00 off treatments over £25.00. Friend receives £5.00 of any treatment. Will try it. But, what’s the best way to word it and how do you clients give it too their friends. On cards ECT? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks:) Di

Often if it's difficult to word something it's going to be difficult to understand:). Why not simplify the offer, cut down on the amount of explanatory words and keep it easy to explain and understand.

Why not try something like "Recommend a Friend and get 20% off your next visit".

The friend doesn't get anything from this offer, but he/she will walk away from their first treatment with a "Recommend a Friend and get 20% off........." which will give him/her the incentive to find a friend and return again... and so the cycle goes on :)

Hi you could maybe say "recommend a friend and recieve a £5 voucher for both of you" and then in small print on the voucher have "voucher only valid for treatments over £25". Simplifies it a bit and makes it less wordy.

Hope this helps!

Love this salon?
Share us with a friend!
Recommend us to a friend and you both get £5 off a cut & blow dry!

Ok babes, managed to find one for you, here it goes

Got local printer to print them on a business card size (thought this was better as client will put them in their purse and have them handy as opposed to a big leaflet)

On the front

spread the word.....
recommend us to a friend and receive £5.00 off YOUR next treatment and YOUR friend will receive 10% off their first!

Logo with address, phone no. web address

then along the bottom there's a horizontal list of some of our treatments

On the back of card

Client's Name then a box (for existing client to enter their name)

Friend's Name then a box (for new client's to enter their name)

Please hand this into reception on your first visit.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY

Please ask at reception for details.

So give some to your clients, they give to their friends. Friend books a treatment and hands you the card. Take 10% discount off the treatment their having. I use a salon software, look up clients name and credit their account with £5. I suppose you could record it on their record card if you don't use salon software. When existing client comes in, give them £5 off their treatment.

Works really well for me, rather than looking deseprate, the girls tell the clients that most of our business is from word-of-mouth and it just a way of thanking our clients for raving about us.

It's a win-win situation, getting new clients in the door. They in turn recommend us to get their fivers off! Was thinking of holding a monthly competition called "Queen of Referrals" offering a prize for the most referrals any one client can get in a month.

Hope this helps you with your wording babes xxx
