Hi everyone
I'm setting up my mobile business at the moment and initially had the plan to just do tanning, gel nails, waxing, eyelash extensions and massage. The reason being that I don't enjoy manicures and pedicures, I love facials but will have to spend on good skincare with a shelf life and have been advised that facials are not popular with mobile therapists. What does everyone else think? I am looking at earning approx £30 an hour, and I know that I won't get that for the manicures and pedicures.
Thanks all x
Wendy:rolleyes:

I hate to tell you that Pedicures are by far my most popular treatment. I think people like to have these in their home so they don't have to worry about walking about in our current weather in flip flops!!! Hope this helps x

My most popular treatments at work are mani's and pedi's and massage.
Mobile i'd say spray tanning, waxing and tints.
To be honest I dont really push facials because I find them the most boring treatment in the world lol But mobile - I have never been asked for them that I can remember.
To be honest hun I wouldnt take mani's and pedi's off your menu. Summer is coming (we hope) and everyone will want one! Then winter will come and then it's manicure time. You will loose out chick xxx

my most popular treatment by far has been massage, and I have built up loads of regulars. It is my most favourite treatment, so i don't know if it shows when i am doing the treatment!
But summer is coming up and I am really expecting spray tans and pedicures to be more in demand! I'm like you and don't particularily enjoy doing nails, too fussy, but if you take them off your treatment menu you might be missing out on a potentially profitable summer xxxx

im finding im getting a far better rates spray tanning farmers fences right now...B&Q are offering excellent deals right now
The hrly rate does seem rather better than faffing around with clients coming in to the studio...fences somehow just don't seem to talk back :lol::lol:

Whatever it is you do...set your prices right and ,like me,find a niche specific to your area....im seriously thinking about spraying sheep up our neck of the woods...im sure there's a killing to be made :)

Thanks for that everyone
Yes I suppose I'm just going to have to get my head round it. I think its the fiddliness and expecting my polish to look like it has appeared in a nail ad in a magazine that put me off. I know thats all practice though, but I thought I would be able to get away without them. Thanks for the advice, its very valuable.x

Hi, Lash Extensions, Waxing, Eyelash Tinting, Massage. Lou xx

Well if you're are weird tigi then so am i!! I love them and i think because i love them so much i can sell them well and thats why they are popular!!

I too absolutely love pedicures...especially the ones with the revolting feet!! I love hard skin, overgrown cuticles and toenails and removing all sorts from under the nail with my currette. I think its so nice to see the reaction of the client afterwards when they realise their feet actually look nice.....so rewarding!!

I hope that works for me because I could spend all day doing facials, they are so relaxing, and something I feel that I am quite good at. There is a real mix of popularity isn't there! I will definitely have to add the nail treatments. A friend who is also going mobile said she is thinking of offering epilation, as she has been asked a couple of times. I am going to do some minx training too and see if that takes off. I am prepared for a slow few months whilst I get going, but by the summer will have all the extra training i didn't get on level 3 and be completely in time for the prom, wedding and holiday season.
