Can anyone help??!! I have been a therapist for many years and having been made redundant at the end of 2008, as I started maternity leave, I am now looking at returning to work. I am planning on starting up on my own, as a mobile therapist, and have recently trained in eyelash extensions - I think this is what I really want to concentrate on. I am unsure what to charge though...it is taking me at least 90 minutes to do a full set so I need to charge enough to make it worthwhile. What do most mobile therapists charge? And should I offer a full set option, along with just outer corners etc??Help!!

Which company have you trained with?
xx

Nouveau Lashes.

In this economy, I have decided to give my clients some choices. This is how I do my pricing (I am on the low end of pricing here in the states):

$100 for 35 LPE--£61
$125 for 45 LPE--£77
$150 for 60 LPE--£92
$175 for 75 LPE--£108
$200 for 90 LPE--£123
$225 for 110+--£138

I hope I got my conversions right. :)
I think most techs just offer a couple different options, but this works for me.
I also charge $50 for a fill and I allow 1 hour for the appointment and just get as many on as I can. Some techs charge per lash for their fills. You'll find what works for you.
You said it takes you about 90 minutes for your set...how many lashes per eye do you put on in that amount of time?

I have absolutely no idea how many lashes I put on each eye, as its different for each person, I also really cannot be bothered to count and would probably forget aswell. I charge £70 for my lashes and it can take me anything from an hour and a half if I'm really lucky to 2 and a half hours. I'm mobile when doing lashes and normally do them in the afternoon as my last appointment so I'm not hurrying. Ideally I'd like to do them all in the 90mins, but I'm still fairly new and want to give a full set, so I'm happy for it to take the time. My sets are looking really good (if I do say so myself lol) and I get word of mouth clients which is great, eventually I'll start timing myself properly when I have a better client base but I'm quite happy how I'm doing it for now. My infils are a little different though I'm quite strict on the timing of an hour as I have a few clients that leave it weeks so I'd literally have to do a full set, I did do that at the beginning, but I don't now. After an hour is up that is it or they can pay me an extra £5 per 15 mins.

Hi Purple Rose, Can you please tell me how you've market your services (lash extension) I ask because I don't really know how else I can market myself with all the nails and beauty services I offer. I'm renting a beauty room at the moment in a hair dressing salon----sometimes I'm busy but most time it's very quiet especially this August. I have recently added minx nails to my services---last week and so far I've only done 2 clients and they are not even through the salon. I did a treatment on my friend and her friend saw it so she booked me in. I have minx poster at the shop window as well. I have a lady from the local paper next week---she's having a minx treatment so I'm hoping she's going to receive it well and promote me in the paper. I'm just stuck at the moment.
Are you doing well in terms of your lash treatment? As regards charges of lash extensions, my friend charges £90 per set, and £35 for 2 weeks infill----and she's very strict with the infil timing just as you.

Sorry to butt in - what do you charge Nouveau infils at? x

I charge £30 for 1 hour which is roughly 3 to 4 week infills.

I'm really lazy at the moment and haven't really done any marketing, however I do normally always have lashes in, I haven't for a couple of weeks and I can tell as no body has asked after them. At the moment I am relying on word of mouth, but I will be doing some posters soon. I did my sister in law the other day, and forgot to take a photo of before but her set was just amazing, so I'm going to take them all out in a few weeks take a photo of before and then after and use that.

i've known home treatments of up to 2 hrs costing around £65 and salon up to £125

There seems to be different rates but I believe the average is between £85 to £125 per full set of lashes for new customers and then you would charge say £10 if they come back after one week to have their infills done, £20 if they come back after two weeks etc

This of course very much depends on your area and the competition you have, some salons charge like this some charge a fixed "refill fee" depending on your area.
hth

I have been doing lashes for around 4.5 months now and I charge:

£55 for a natural looking set - full set for 90 - 120 minutes
£65 for a glamourous looking set - full set 90-120 minutes

£5 for the recommended mascara.

Infills £20-30 for 1 hour depending on how many lashes are left. I have some clients who look after their lashes amazingly, others not so well but thats just a lifestyle thing.

I am going to put my prices up by £10-15 for both sets as of October.

I am sure I could chrarge more but my clients and myself are comfortable with the price and while I feel confident doing lashes, once I have a bit more experience I am sure I will charge more.

I am based in Reading, Berkshire BTW x

I am based in London and I charge from £40 for 45mins ... £90 for 2 hours.

First time full set is £110 including aftercare kit (lash sealant and mascara).

Our salon is charging 100 for a full set currently, even mobile I dont think you should drop below £80-£90, its cheapening service and products.

My friends salon in Kent, currently charging £90

Just my view.
