Hi all im a beauty student so have no real knowledge of the different nail enhancememts however have been trawling through the threads and learning some!
So i've had acrylic nail extensions for about 6 years and recently (about 3 months ago) had them removed. My natural nails are now very thin and weak and look awful what would be the best thing to strengthen, enhance them so they look halfway decent and dont get damaged any more??
Thanks for advice

Shellac (by CND) them. I just took off enhancements two weeks ago and put on Shellac & my nails are paper thin anyway, they streaghten them and lasted very welll I was amazed. I well be posting pictures later. I nicked them a few times with file doing acyrlic but was able to touch up easily. :D I'm now on my second round of Shellac my nails are growing.

I can tell you the exact same story as Franjess!!

About 2and a half months ago I removed my enhancements, after roughly 25 years of pretty continual wear ... my nails were neither thin nor damaged but of course they were brittle from dehydration (which is what has happened on numerous occasions in the past). No way would I be able to get past 3 days after removal without breaking my nails.

Well I immediately applied Shellac and have been using it ever since. My nails look pretty gorgeous and feel strong yet they flex without breaking when I'm doing jobs.

I havent had but 2 accidents since using Shellac ... I cut into one nail with a sharp bread knife on one occasion and I did bash my index fingernail hard the other day and broke it, but not far down and with a file to tidy it up it still looks very good.

I am amazed with Shellac and how perfect it stays for weeks. You won't be disappointed in its performance ... neither in the short term or with extended wear over months. I can't now imagine NOT using this amazing UV3 colour coat system.

Id looked at shellac but thought you needed to have longer nails mine are really short with hardly any free edge !! Anybody do them in my area - derby /burton??

Ring Sweet Squared on 0845 2106060 and ask them who they supply in the area in which you are interested.
