Hi Everyone!
I am a new geek, and am undertaking a nail course at college - and have just started my training with CND as well.

I am wanting to do an airbrushing course - but I wasnt sure how good the essential nails home learn course would be? I wasnt sure what taught courses are available, and where they were. I am in the north of Scotland - but willing to travel.

I noticed CND Shropshire run one - but I wasn't sure if this this is a CND course or one they run themselves? Do CND run Nail Art/Airbrushing Courses, as they don't in Scotland just now??

Can someone recommend the best courses for me to do? I am also interested in doing nail art - but I think I will cover that in college later in my course.

if you can get on a classroom course go for it, i have done the essential nails airbrushing but only because i live in cornwall and nobody runs airbrushing classes near me, and to be honest i found it hard doing it from a dvd at home and i couldn't get on well with the equipment (i know alot of people do like to do it that way and will have loved the en home learn, but in my opinion it is much better if you can do it hands on)

hey hun i have to say essential nails i no its not for everyone but i found it really thorough and rewarding its a bit more intense than the other essential nails courses i have done but its the best course i have done by far and does boost your income and adds a great extra to your service, i passed with a distinction 97% on the airbrush course it took me about 12 weeks because i really concentrated and wanted to get good at using the gun but you can take as long as you want with this course and you can do it in your own time.
my friend did a 3 day course at a local hair and beauty wholesalers which she siad was ok but even after that she was asking me questions and she wasnt to sure on things and only could do a few basic designs and blends and didnt no how to unblock the airgun etc but that was her experience there might be some good courses out there but for me its essentil nails :)
good luck .

Hey
Thanks very much - I had looked at the essential nails course - but wasn't sure how easy it would be home learn. The only Airbrushing courses I can find are one day courses - which I didn't feel would be enough for me, so I will maybe give the essential nails course a try.

What is the kit like that comes with the essential nails course? Is it ok quality??

hey yea day courses i feel personally for airbrushing is jst giving you the basics and a feel for airbrushing :| and i wouldnt waste my money on it chick.
the essential nails airbrushing course comes with everything you need airbrush gun, compressor, paints, base coat, topcoat, stencils, cleaner, cleaning brushes, salon display cards, 2 hour teaching dvd, trainer manual, trainer hand, assesment and certification, finger rest and some more stuff. you also get reassesment if you do fail.
i feel its great value for the money because you do get everything you need and your most important essentials like gun and compressor and stencils which are your own to keep, but if you was to go to a day class most likely your kit wouldnt be included in the course.

let me no how you get on hun and if you do decided to get it and need any help just message me and i will be happy to help you :)

Just bumping this thread

My assistant is desperate to do an airbrushing/nail art courses, like NOW!!

Does ANYONE know of any in Scotland???

I did the Essentail Nails one several years ago and found it quite good. But please consider if you will use it. I only have one client who has airbrushed nail art so my kit gets used once every two weeks.

It is quite a serious financial outlay so do you think you would get your money back in clients?

I would also suggest that you source out the best equipment you can if you do decide to do it and buy the EN DVD on it's own.

There are lots of people who do fab airbrushed nail art on here, ask them what equipment they use.

Hope that helps.

Well I have had plenty of people come over from Scotland to do my airbrush class. It's one to one training so all the attention is on you and not a group of people.

We're not allowed to put too much info on here so if you'd like more info here's the link to my training page.

Airbrushed Nail Art Training in Dublin

I also provide 'normal' nail art training too!

Regarding doing a 'one day' class - it all depends on the quality of the class!
