At the weekend I was kept busy for a full day on the friday and saturday which was fantastically encouraging as i'm building my business from only 3 weeks ago. Along came the new week...and its dead! I've just started hiring a room within a salon (thankfully i'm not committed to a certain number of hours a week, just when there are clients booked in), and there are no bookings at all yet for friday evening or saturday during the day. Is this normal for easter hols? I know i need to advertise far more yet to get myself known, but is everywhere a bit qiueter this week?

Im sorry to hear you are so worried sweety, i feel the same way as i am hoping to set a mobile business soon and i am worried.....i need clients. There seems so much to do inc the advertising....
Im sure you will be fine babe and business will pick up soon
GOOD LUCK
RUTHY

:irked: Don't Worry!
I set up my business from home last year and it really went in fits and starts, some days/weeks really busy, some completely flat. It takes a while for word of mouth to spread(best & cheapest advertising) but it will gradually become more even. Keep your chin up!

Lots of peeps have gone away for the Easter break, so don't fret too much hun.

It is quite quiet for me also, not had any clients today, but fairly busy tomorrow and a couple for Saturday. Next week though is a different matter, ZILCH, NADA, NOWT!!!!

It is only my second week as a fully self employed person and even though it is quiet I am loving it. I am sure I won't love it quite so much at the end of the month though as I won't be getting a pay cheque. Even with what money I do take, I will have to split it 6 ways - rent/tax man/NI/products/training/ME.

I think all school holidays are quiter i wouldn't want any treatments done
with my two around. Bank holidays a different story cos the other halves
are off to have the kids! it will pick up.

i started this week too, have had some clients each day but alot was pre booked, its the passing trade i'm missing, although its starting to pick up with repeat bookings, its a scary business going it alone but i'm sure it'll be worth it, keep your chins up guys, that was the advice i was given yesterday when i was freaking out, went in positive today and had a good day xxx

as the majority of our business is female orientated (unless you specialise in male treatments) it does tend to die down at easter with many mums looking after their kids.many people also go away or visit family. you should find that periods such as the run up to hols and xmas will more than make up for the quiet periods.you just have to go with it, and use your quiet times effectively for marketing etc.
goodluck xx

you guys are all fantastic! thank you so much. I'm going to get focused on picking up more passing trade, and more regular clients, i've got some fantastic ideas from this website (it really is an amazing site) and i'm going to start putting them to good use!

Thank you, and best of success for you all!

 :)
