Hi guys,
Which skin peel do you prefer lactic acid, ascorbic acid or glycolic?
I did a lactic acid peel today, it was the first time i did it. I'm a bit concerned that there is no neutrilizer to use at the end off it, so you just need to take it off with sponges, and the time you should leave it on is 15-20 mins:eek:. A bit unusual for me, because I used to use glicolic and i'd leave it for about 5-8 mins max and I'd use neutrilizer to bring the ph of the skin back to normal. Her skin felt tingly even after I took it off. I bit worried now:|.
any thoughts?
thanks:hug:

Hi I use a triple peel - a combination of all three or glycolic. It really depends on the skin type that you are treating as to which peel is preferable. If you are following the manufacturers/training instructions you should not have to worry about using them.:)

Triple peel, wow, I've never herd of it before.
Thanks for your advice:hug:. I am not too worried but just when you do something first time you can get a bit nerves:| It's like my first brazilian, her skin there went a bit red and I thought I burned her and I nearly had a heart attack  When I look at it back,it seams so funny :) what was I worried about so much?

Hi If I am treating a new client I would use the minimal time and keep checking with the client how her skin is reacting (as well as visual signs). Usually after the peel is used the tingling stops - depending on her skin type I would do anything from 3 - 15 minutes.:)

I'm going to try this peel on my self and see how it feels. My skin is quite thick and not sensitive at all, it almost never goes pink. Even after a med microdurmabrasion my skin looks like it hasn't been treated at all:eek:
About the girl I treated yesterday she wanted a strong peel, she said she had a few glycolic peels before and they weren't strong enough, so she couldn't see any difference after. I was very careful with her, cos I asked her if she exfoliates a lot or uses AHA daily, she said no, but her skin looked like she does. When the peel was on, I kept asking if it was alright, she said it was only a slight tingling sensation on her chin, but the skin went quite red so I took the peel off earlier. In future I might refuse to do peels on her, because I think she hasn't been honest about her exfoliation rutine. Any thoughts geeks?

my fave at the moment is are salicylic/mandelic

we use to use neutralizers aswell but we stopped as for they dry out the skin , we make sure there is a bottle in the salon and some b-soda just in case . after doing are stonger peels 20% salysilic/10% mandelic we use water from the fridge to remove .

my skin goes really red but is fine after a mask is applied (skinceuticals) we require are clients havnt used aha's for 24-48 hours before hand depending on which peel and skin type.
Maybe ask her to come in a few days after the treatment so you can ***** her skin if your unsure , if i feel there keeping something from me i will tell them it will do damage .

Thanks,
I agree, I'll talk to her again and explain how damaging it might be if she is not honest with me.
Thanks again:hug:

I would explain the dangers of over exfoliation and get her to sign a document saying she is aware she should not be using any products she has not told you about prior to or within so many days of her peel, this should really send the message home.
