which do you use clear or natural tips?

i was taught on my course when extending nail with tips to do a French nail to use natural tips and blend into nail then apply white, but a chick i know uses clear tips and then puts white on, i had a go and found that using the clear tip came out better.

hope that makes sense

just wanting to know what other peeps prefer. =)

Better, in what way?
Since you are applying white on top of the tip, it doesn't make any difference, 'cause the tip doesn't show...

When I tip I tend to use natural....unless its for glitter nail art where I want a more translucent effect.

ditto!! do you mean for custom blending - because if you are using an opaque mix you shouldn't see the nail tip through it xx

When you do permanent french enhancements, the choice of tip is entirely up to you..just as long as the correct fit is used of course! The only time that you should definately use clear tips is when you are applying gel. This ensures complete curing above and below the enhancement.

I don't prefer either. The end result is virtually the same.

just what she said.....:)

If you're using a clear tip, the under side of the tip will be white as opposed to a natural nail tip colour.... the same as a sculpted nail would look from the underside.....just a thought on what could be the differences.
