Hi
I wondered if you had a client (fairly new) and you were unable to fit them in for four-five days and they were desperate for a massage to ease some pain would you refer them to an alternative therapist or just leave it that you couldn't help them?

I do and have refered clients if i am away or unable to fit them in....only because i know who i am refering them to and trust there ability:green::hug:.

Obviously it's more beneficial to try and make space and get them in but if needs must and all that - if they were in pain, you'd be helping them out really.

Tough one i spose....the other person may be better and they may go to them in the future !

I think if you can create a good relationship with another therapist then it works well, holidays...sick...it all helps.

Amber and I refer to each other and help out when we can over holidays ect....I have never given it another thought....I trust her and knows she will do a good job.

I could never refer someone unless i knew their work....i wouldn't want it come back on me cos i refered them.

hey....are you stroking my ego:green:

Ah thanks ange:hug: helps when we're only about 3 miles apart too.

I'd love to have somebody that could cover for holidays and sickness but sadly don't have anyone close enough

We have no problems referring beauty and nail clients over to some of the local therapists that have trained with us as we have got to know them and are sure that they will give a great treatment.

We also refer to a local salon who we get on well with and she has done likewise for us.

We always try to fit them in ourselves but sometimes you have to say no.

We have a lot of lovely wedding venues very close by and get a lot of wedding parties travel a long distance to them. Most saturdays are booked for hair well in advance and we turn away a lot of bridal hair ups. We don't personally know the quality of the hair ups of the other local salons so don't recommend them for this reason.
