Funny isnt it - whilst I was training/practising, I had volenteers coming out of my ears & all wanted to rebook.
Now im actually "live" & charging... NOTHING!
I know its only been a week but I havent had ONE client, no enquireis, nothing!
My volenteers are being helpful, handing out cards etc, but im just at a loss. My prices are smack bang in the middle of going rates for this area, their is nobody else within 5 mile radius offering waxing, so what on earth has gone wrong? I know im good at it, i wouldnt be charging otherwise, and i have had nothing but possitive feedback - but where are the paying clients?
At the moment i just have a facebook page, posters and leaflets in every local shop window, leisure centre etc, is it worth me doing door-to-door leaflets?
please help.. i need to make this work, but im already at a loss as to how !?!?

The last few weeks, waxing (apart from brows) has been my quietest treatment. I think it's the cold...everyone needs the insulation!! Lol
If I'm honest mine need doing but I'm holding on a bit longer :D
Don't stress.
Do you offer other treatments? Maybe combine waxing into a special "package" with something you already do? X

One week!? Don't be so hard on yourself. It takes time to build a business. If you have free time then you may as well send out leaflets door to door.

Waxing is the only real "adult" treatment I offer!! Im also trained in mani/pedi & facials, but only have the occassional bride to be or similar for those. Ive got a facial & brow wax package advertised.
My main business at the moment is from pamper & body art parties, especially since I added glitter tattoos to my insurance! But these are weekends, and I really want to get a bit more week day work (hence waxing) so i can spend at least a couple of weekends with my family lol .
thanks for replying x

Apart from brows/lips waxing not busy for me either roll on summer

I find most of my clients by being really sociable.
I go to church, exercise classes, school (kids)
Talk to the ladies behind the counter in the bank, make yourself known.
Failing that I'd get a job in a shop for a year or so to get experience and a good rep.

Don't lose heart, we all had to start somewhere.

Firstly, forget your volunteers as they probably can't afford waxing, so put them behind you.

Try to build your own website as that will be your shop window. Before you know it you'll be turning them away.

Have you tried networking events? The cold weather really shouldn't affect your waxing business that much because most clients when they are in a good routine and happy with their therapist will be very regular with appointments regardless of if it is cold... Plus it is easier to grow the hairs out when you are all covered up!
It can take a while to build up the business so keep positive with it all... the clients will slowly build up!

Thanks again everyone for all the support. still no clients, but I have decided to put much more focus onto advertising. I am in the process of building my own website, I have flyers which I am going to deliver door-to-door (5000 - should keep me busy a day or two lol) & tomorrow I am going into town, I am going to ask every single shop if they will pop a flyer & some business cards in the staf room, the worst that can happen is they say no, guess i just need to be cheeky daft, socialise more (oh no, what a shame!lol) & give it time ...

I said on this thread a few days ago that my waxing has now gone quiet but the last 2 days I've had loads book in! Lots of clients that disappeared have suddenly got back in touch for waxing too.
Just goes to show people don't always prioritise things like waxing when they're a bit skint after Xmas, or that it comes in fits and spurts so don't stress :)
Plus you've only been doing it a dot of time so give yourself a break...it'll come!
Good luck xxx
