At the risk of sounding awkward, when someone joins the site in September and their first post is asking questions like this, then it's safe to assume they have homework that they would like answered for them....... Sorry, but you're in the wrong place for that.

You need to look in your reference books, books from the library or use on-line resources. The best way to learn is to do your own research and come to your own conclusions. We've all done our own work and have reaped the benefits......

I hope I've helped point you in the right direction to find the info you need.

We also have a search facility at the top of the page where you can search through threads and usually find the info that you are looking for,
good luck with your course, hth

5 disposable or single use pieces of equipment or products could be:

(1) Wax
(2) Waxing Spatulas
(3) Waxing Strips
(4) Cotton Wool Pads
(5) That paper roll stuff that you line the couch with

I should imagine that the benefit of using these items is that you can guarantee that they are new for each client so there is no risk of cross contamination.

I wouldn't like to give a definitive answer for the laundering, but, off the top of my head, I would say machine wash at over 60C (i.e. hot enough to kill any bacteria) and always use fresh towels for each client. So put them in the laundry immediately after you have used them for a particular client.

And for the data protection act, try this link... Data Protection Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and for the official blurb of the act itself, Data Protection Act 1998 (c. 29)

couch roll , gloves ,tissues , spatulas and also items such as disposable thongs or even head bands , hth

ps , also yes a ruth says wash over or at 60 degrees , this is what i was told on my course.

:green: I think Ruth and Vicky got it all covered there...enjoy your course Niki :)

Well that was a good guess - think I'd heard it somewhere unless it's just common sense lol... although Sonia would say that myself and "common sense" are somewhat mutually exclusive lol...
