Morning,

I just have a couple of questions as I am geting myself confused!

Ok . . . . . .

I am trained and qualified in manicures and acrylic, does this mean I can or cannot apply acrylic NNO on toe nails?

I am trained with Star Nails, does this mean I can only use this product or can I now use any product, such as NSI?

All of this is in relaion to insurance, as in will my insurance still cover me if I did toe nails or if I used NSI??

Replies would be much appreciated :)

Yes you can apply your products to toenails.

Yes your insurance is not brand specific and will cover you, but check with your own insurer to be absolutely certain.

You will be able to use NSI and any other nail products you wish in the same category as Star Nails.

You would not be able to purchase the L&P or Brisa Gels from CND.
To use CND professional only use products you would need to attend a Conversion Class with the products; this is to ensure that you are using CND correctly so that you have a problem free transition from one product to another and so that the products are performing at their best for you and more importantly for your clients.

The good news is You can as a trained technician purchase all the other fabulous CND products like Tips and manicure and pedicure, Colour & Effects and the new Shellac with the certificate from Star and without attending further training. HTH

Thanks for your reply Geeg

You've made my day, I didnt realise that I would be able to use Shellac or the CND Manicure products, I knew that I couldn't use the l&p or Brisa so just assumed it was like that for everything, yaaaay !

In your opinion, would it be worthwhile me doing a conversion to CND l&p? I am enjoying using the Star Nails products but I have only recently passed with them, is it too soon to try CND do you think? should I build my skills up first?

My advice would be for you to carry on with what you are using at the moment and to get to know the products and how they perform and build your skills .. maybe give it 6 or 8 months or so. In that time you will learn the things that you don't like ... things like yellowing, cracking, dullness, hard to file etc etc. In this way, when you do make the switch you will have the experience to really be able to appreciate the difference between what you are learning with and another brand which will make your life allot easier as a nail tech.

Thanks Geeg

Really appreciate your advice

i know cnd is at the top for many reasons but is their l+p easier to file than other good brands, thanks

I have tried a few different l&p products, and I can say that CND l&p files like butter, in comparrison to the other brands I have used. However as I re learnt an important lesson over the past couple of days, you should shape with your brush, in other words, place your l&p carefully and not too thickly.

Hiya best thing I ever did changing over to CND it really is lovely to work with really easy to file and a joy to do an infill, used to dread infills as I couldn't get the L&P to blend in CND just blends in so well doesn't yellow or crack, I used another product for 3 yrs was happy with it as I didn't know any better, wouldn't change to another product at all now love it, and hopefully will go on to do my masters with CND

thanks i hate the fills so much for all those reasons, good luck with your masters x
