Afternon Geeks,

I am in need of some help please. I have a client that has very poor natural nails, she is an exteme nail biter. I have applied short tips and overlay P&W using perfect colour by CND. The last 2 times I have rebalance, quite a few of the nails have splits fom the tip all the way down to zone 3. Its generlly the finger nails and never the thumbs, she says she doesn't use them as tools and they are short.... what do you think is causing this and how do you think i can avoid this?

This is the only client this happens on.....

I have a client like this, and she openly admits to putting them in her mouth, cause she can't get used to not doing it.

She bites them kinda sideways so she's putting pressure on both sides which causes them to split right down the centre of the tip. She says when she hears the crack its reminds her she wearing them and she takes them out of her mouth.

Don't know if this is the reason with your client but worth asking, maybe she doesn't realise she's doing it?

Hth's xx

totally agree with the above post, as i used to do exactly the same.
also used to constantly "tap" my nails on any available surface, as i wasnt used to being able to do so lol

The above reasons are possible and also if the tip doesn't fit her nailshape well. With constant biting it may be a bit misshaped and flat and if you are bending the tip to fit onto her flat nail, it may cause cracking down the centre. More likely to be her still having a good suck and chew though I think! LOL

Could you try sculpting to see if this solves the problem?

Cheers,
Hazel

I have a nibbling niece, she cannot resist applying pressure, with her teeth, to the 'C' curve - until it cracks............I suspect that this is the problem

I used to do this to myself all of the time,
I didn't realise I had done it until I heard the 'crack' !

It could be that she is doing this, but not enough to crack it at that specific time, but she has weakened it, so the next available opportunity the enhancement gets...it breaks !

Im a biter and Id say she is defo putting them in her mouth, its by habit you do it, biters tend to rub there nails constantly over there lips to make sure they are still there, they like to feel that they have them on and before you know it they are in the mouth putting pressure on them.
