Who are you training with? Most companies will train you on both methods as each method has its place with different clients.

hi,

Just on a personal basis i sculpt ALL the time...... never had a client i cant work on... many methods and colour make pretty hands...he he... just personal chice....H x

i am doing home learn courses with essential nails, i keep getting pulled towards sculpting, but just wnated to try and find out what is most popular.

it depends on the clients nails...some times the nails r very thin and damaged like my nails now i prefer to sculpting them...good sculpting needs a lot of practising..the tips is easier to do because u got the shape so u only apply the product on top of it....i will say a nail technician should know both methods i don't know what system u r using...NSI they have a DVD with a very good tutorials if u order that u can see how to do sculpting and practise that at home if u cant afford a course now, and later on after practising u can enter a short course to make sure that u get it properly...xx

thank you for your replys ladies

I trained to do tips only .I did my ezflow conversion day a couple of weeks ago and there where some forms in my kit. I had a go and now i really want to learn to do it properly my first attempt was not as bad as i expected. x

i did learn to do both but most people in my area only want tips because its the only thing they know and they dont want to try anything else.x

hi hun im doing en gel at the mo fab courses !!
personally i would learn tip & overlay you will have all you need for both then buy your forms from en, you can buy their sculpting dvd from ebay for a fiver ! that way you got the best of both worlds !!

thanks lissa, im going to go and have a look on ebay im on the last part of my gel course the now its really good i have enjoyed it very much just doing it in my own time, its great being able to work round my daughter without worrying about deadlines, im hoping to get mine sent away by friday this week then im starting the next one im doing all of them but i can only afford 5 at the moment, so that why i asked this question, i will eventually do both anyway but want to do the one that will bring me the most money first.

I tip and I sculpt, and tbh I don't give clients the choice - I do whichever I feel is the most appropriate depending on what their natural nails are like and what look they are after...... Occasionally clients ask for one or the other but most have never seen sculpting forms.....

With the greatest respect sculpting successfully can be trickier than just buying forms and a dvd from ebay! I found form fitting really difficult until I did a Skill-Building class and worked with the educator to see where I was going wrong...... Sculpted nails that aren't structurally sound wont last.

I charge the same for tip and overlay or sculpted nails so it's not a case that one way will earn you more than the other......
