Hi , I have another question for you computer expert geeks out there, this ones driving me mad, what does it mean and what do I have to do when it comes up...Adobe Reader could not open (whatever file name), because it is either a supported file type or because the file has been damaged.

I done some flyers on microsoft office last night , my printer was playing up, and some how:irked:, lost the template, but had previously stored it to documents, but when I try to open it , it comes up with this Adobe buisness. Some of my videos on my computer are saying the same thing too when I try to open them...getting very frustrated now..hope this all makes sense.

which adobe reader do u have ?

Sorry hun makes no sense to me, how would I know?

Ive just looked, would it be reader 8 ?

somebody please help, pulling my hair out now.:irked:

Hey Debbie - the problem you describe usually happens if you have more than one version of Adobe Reader installed, for example you might have been using 5.0 and then installed 6.0 (without installing 5.0) which is pretty normal to be honest as most of us think that the old version would be uninstalled automatically.

I'm assuming you're a Windows user rather than Mac.. You need to go into the Control Panel which you will find on the menu once you click Start (you may need to click Start, then Settings, then you'll see Control Panel) anyway once you've got into it click the Add/Remove Programs icon and a list of all your installed software will display. What you are checking for is Adobe Reader. If you have more than one installed then click on the older one and choose uninstall. It will uninstall and then likely ask you to restart your computer.

Give that a go. If it doesn't work you can PM me to save boring the pants off all the other geeks and we'll try something else...! I'm sure we'll get it sorted so don't stress
