Hi,
I've been working mobile for the last 5 years and moving into a new hair and beauty salon thats opening. I'm the only beauty therapist/nail technician there.

Because i've had no salon experience i'm relying on all you geeks out there to give me some essential advice about working in a salon.

Are there any tricks of the trade or good practices that have helped you along the way.

any advice given from your ecperiences would be fantastic as i'm getting really nervous now. I'm moving in on Saturday by the way.

Thanks,x

Be early to work.

Keep your station clean.

Keep your personal life to your self. Don't gossip or get involved in any drama that is going on.

Be fun, happy, positive, willing to work.

All the best!

Be rigid about your timing, don't keep anyone waiting.

And

wear the biggest smile you have and enjoy!

This is a piece of advice that I recieved from a fellow cosmetologist who has been in this profession for many years and I have kept it with me since she first gave it to me:
It is very crucial who you surround yourself with. As long as your treat this profession as a business, much success will come your way.
