i did a client recently who originally booked straight then changed her mind and asked me if she could have the bodywave. i re-ordered the bodywavy for her ( charged her only for the bodywave) and did it today anyway i finished it and she didnt like it and says its 'more curly now its in her hair then she thought' and was really quite rude. anyway she then said she will have straight hair done now as soon as i can and she still wants me to do it as she is happy with it overall except for the hair wave.
she is insisting that i give her the suppliers number where i got it so she can get the straight hair free as the hair she has is defintely not 'the wavy hair'. which i know it is obviously.
i am actually only charging her for the straight hair she wants... not the time of re-fitting it which i think is fair..

she is also extremely well known and can get me alot of business etc..
so i thought i was being fair just charging her for the cost of the straight hair but she was mortified when i told her i would be..
am i being unfair?

also ive noticed with a few of my 'younger ' clients leaving maintenence by 4/6 weeks overdue this month (probably due to no money after xmas) but im thinking its now going to be more time etc due to it being left so late. do you charge more when you clients do this or do you charge per hour?

Firstly, for maintenance I charge per hour.
It is not entirely clear from your post whether you charged her twice for the hair or is the wavy hair more expensive, and you charged her the cheaper straight hair price?

I too charge maintenance by time

If I was doing a re-fit for a client just because she decided she didn't like the hair she chose, I would charge full price again. It's not your fault that she didn't like it. I am assuming that you did a full consultation discussing the pros and cons of her choice? If you did then it's not because you did carry out your end of the bargain. :)

I think you are being more than fair only charging for the cost of the new hair.

sorry i edited it to make it clearer lol..

no i just charged her once the for the price of the wavy which is more expensive by aprox 30.00.
i already ordered the straight hair and didnt charge her for it which i normally would but luckily had a client who used it last week so not total waste of money.
