hi everyone.
i am very new to the business of mobile nails. i have trained and gained qualifications with the guild, but i am having issues with my gel nails. i was taught hard gel. and they are falling off and lifting within hrs of going on.
i am following what i have been taught
nail prep. file. remove dust etc. apply tip. remove dust. apply primer. apply cost 1, cure. apply coat 2, cure. use finishing wipes. add 3rd coat, cure. use finishing wipe, then a sealer gel and cure ! what am i doing wrong ???

also, i had my nails done at a salon using acry gel. i have tryed this method, by dipping in some acrylic power, same process, but still no joy.

be ace if someone could give me some tips and help on this matter. finding it very fustrating.
many thanks

Hi

Prep should include removing the non living skin from th nails plate....no product should touch the sidewalls/cuticle are....basically product will only adhere to nail plate...not skin. Leave a margin around the edges of the nail plate...remove skin from the nail plate and keep the product application thin in zone 3 (cuticle area)

Also application with gel or any product is about more than how many layers you apply....its about how that layer is applied...building strength with your layers and applying thicker in some places than others...

It might help to get back in touch with your trainer ???

Where did you do your training and with what gel system?

I wouldn't be messing around adding powder to the gel you trained with unless it is part of your system ... you seem to be pretty new to nails to be 'playing' around and mixing products which is something I would never do and I have 25 years plus experience. :green:

Nails that lift or fall off withing a few days of application were never on in the first place.

You have to go back to the beginning and look very carefully at your Preparation. As Angie says . it doesn't matter how well you apply something. Ff the surface you have applied it to is not sufficiently prepared, then what you have applied is going to come off.

As you really do not mention in you post or your profile who or what you trained with then my guess is that you need more training or go back to basics and get your Preparation right.
