Advice on Lily Lolo Shine Away Powder

After reading previous threads on this site regarding mineral make-up, I ordered some samples from Lily Lolo. I was really impressed with the coverage and not having that caked-on feeling that you get with liquid foundations was great.

Anyway, on and off I suffer with bad skin and found the Lily Lolo cover up great. However, I am still getting that awful shiney face problem. (I use Dermalogica Oil Control too).

I have ordered the full size pots of make up today. As well as the foundation and cover up I have also ordered the Shine Away. I'm assuming as it's a finishing powder that it goes on after the foundation, it just looks a little dark in the picture though!

Can somebody please clarify for me.

I'm not too sure about the Shine Away. I have really oily skin but wasn't sure whether the Shine Away or the Flawless Matte would be best for me but decided on the Flawless Matte as it said you could mix with your moisturiser to help control oil even more.

Can anyone tell me what the coverage is like and if this is something that you can build up? Not that I like a heavy coverage but on days when I want to hide from the world I find I feel a bit better with just a touch more base on.

I got the Flawess Matte with my sample order but I dont think it made much difference to my shine which is why I thought i'd give the Shine Away a try.
My order arrived this morning so i've used the shine away, will let you know how I go on with it.

Okay that's great! Can I ask how many shades of foundation did you order? I only ordered the one shade but satrting to think maybe I should have ordered a few more!

When I ordered the samples I ordered In The Buff & Popsicle. I would happily wear any of them but I ended up going with a full size tub of Popsicle.

If you do decide to order the full size products check out their Make-Up Kits section. I nearly bought foundation, finishing powder and a kabuki brush as seperate items but they do a Basics Kit which includes all 3 of those but saves £4.00 (not much but it's better in your pocket than theirs).

Yes the shine away powder will be exactly as you say, if you only get oily done the centre then you could just apply it to those areas.

hi mineral geeks,

well as i have said on here i love lily lolo and find it fantastic to use . i have spots all the time and yes this has helped but the best thing is it covers them so well (blush away).

i did also buy the shine away but to be honest the foundation ( cool caramel) does a great job covering the shine that i haven't even used it .

since using the tester pots i have not even once gone back to what i was using before never have i been so impressed with foundation and it's a powder foundation ........... i hate powder make up !!

Well I got my samples at the weekend and I love it! After three attempts (went back and ordered some more!) I finally found my perfect shade in Candy Cane! You were right Misty - Flawless Matte does very little to control my oil so will be doing as you recommend and ordering the Shine Away. Love the coverage and the fact that it stays on all day! Very, very pleased and will be ordering the full size very soon! :green:

Have they stopped making this? I am waiting for the new starter pack in light to become available before placing my first order but can't find it. Also, they seem to have stopped doing the samples in the eye shadows, concealers and blushers which is a real shame as I was going to order a few to try.
