Advice On Spray Guns Please

Hi, id appreciate any advice on purchasing a spray tanning gun and compressor im confused as theres loads out there this will be my first spray gun so cant afford to waist my money on something rubbish and that leaks, ive got £250-£300 to spend...So do you suggest and good guns ive looked at Fake Bake order before you see it its a little picture on leaflet, and saw one called Black Magic a pic on another forum but cant find that either, il be spraying from home friends and family, boyfriend etc.. so sz is also inportant..cnc..x.x.x

Have you looked in Sienna-x's website, they are very competative and offer a really good machine with solution that fits into your budget. Its the same machine as I used to have and I can certainly vouch for it, it was a fabulous little machine!!!

You will find that a lot of tanning liquid manufacturers offer the same compressor in their entry level kit using the T200 which seems to be a very good option for the starter kits - reliable and very good value for money.

If you have a look around salongeek you should be able to find a lot of information on different packages and manufacturers. There is already other threads about this so you will find enough help but make sure to buy from the company you feel most comfortable with and that will also provide the aftersales service you need if things go wrong.

If you havent already been trained in spraytanning it might be worth buying the equipment from the company you are going to train with as your trainer can then go through the equipment with you and explain everything you need to know.

ok first thing first hun

do you know what solution you want to use

if not do a search on here and see what a fantastic bunch we all are and the pros and cons of them all. we are a almightly community and we all use different solutions/equipment. what suits one may not suit another and vice versa so do your homework and you wont go wrong!!!!!

any probs we are all here to help.

grab yourself a notebook and take notes and see who the popular companies are and get on that phone.

do your homework and follow it through

we all like different things in life its part of who and what we are

research your market

who offers what in your area

once you have all that and you have approached companies for prices etc

make a informed decision based on all the above

Also any machine can be use with any solution, so even if you change your mind further down the line you can switch to a different solution and your machine will be exactly the same!!

Indeed true however there are a couple of considerations to make if this is a route you are considering

1) Most liquids on the market will operate through most machines however due to the different viscosities that there are between them you may need to alter the output volume of your gun to compensate.

2) If you are using an alternative liquid and are not an experienced operator it could be wise to undertake a "top up" training programme with the new liquid provider as they may have spray tan technique recommendations which may differ from your original supplier
if you are experienced the this is generally not necessary

3) Remember you are entering a partnership arrangement with your chosen provider...most will support you if you experience any problems with your equipment...
It follows therefore that if you switch there is no guarantee that the new liquid provider will support you as you had not purchased the equipment via them.
lots to consider so do as much research as you can now.

If you get decent training to begin with (guild approved etc) you should be able to swap solutions without top up training. SPray tan technique shouldnt alter just because you are changing solutions, far from it! I (and many others I know) have tried different solutions through our machines an they have all been absolutley fine. There may be the odd one that may differ but on the whole solutions in my experience are of similar viscosity.

If you are just starting out it is most certainly advisable to to obtain as much training as is possible,and if needs be additional top up training ..

This will undoubtedly pay dividend in the longer term.

If you are a relatively experienced operator and up wards the change to an alternative liquid will simply be a case of an initial period of trial and error and then you will be away.

I did wk in a salon but it only 1 girl did the spray tanning ive since done a course in spray tanning at pinks training academy, last year, got certificate, confidence, and know how, i wk from home so wanted to ad spray tanning to my treatments...Hench wanting to buy a good machine maybe im doing it the wrong way round ok i need to get machine, but also concentrate on getting a good brand of tanning products for different skin tones...cnc
