Hello everyone,

I have been doing smile lines rebalances with the pink and white acrylic but in my last salon in that area there wasn't a huge demand for french. But in my new Salon thats really popular and even though my smile lines are quiet nice by the time i've filed i find it exhuasting and im slow. It still takes me an hour and a half:grr: So i have just bought an airbrush (haven't got in post yet) (though i will still offer the permanent french) but what i'm asking is PLEASE someone tell and absolute beginner in airbrushing how do you do spray on smile lines with an airbrush? do you need any undercoats or a special top coat? how can you prevent it cracking? this is for acrylic nails. Can you use IBD intense seal over the top or just normal top coat or both? Also which paint? Please be as specific in all aspects of spray on smilelines what stencils etc etc

Thank you everyone

i use medea paints with my airbrush
i paint on medea base coat (its just like normal polish) then spray my design using a stencil, spray sealer varnish on and then seal with medea top coat (top coat is also like normal polish in a bottle)
hope this helps hun, you can get some nice french design stencils x

Taking a course in air brushing might be a good idea :green:

Hi, ive just started doing an airbrushing course with essential nails .You get everything you need in the course to start airbrushing at home.Have a look on thier website you can pay for the course in monthly instalments. Im sure if u gave thm a ring and explained you have just bought an air brush they might just send you the other equiptment you need for the course. Anyway you should get some training its not as easy as it looks ,but once u start i know u will love it!!!:)

As Lisa Marie says, Medea Cloud White is a great paint to use.

Here's how I do it:

1. Get the nail squeaky clean and make sure there is no 'shine'. If doing this on natural nails I put a tiny bit of primer along the tip of the nail where the paint will be sprayed. If using a base coat make sure it is really dry before the next step.

2. Use your thumb (soft pad sideways on) as a stencil, position it where you want the smile line to be and spray nice and dry. If base coat isn't propery dry you'll end up with a thumb print in it.

3. I always use a finishing gel now over my airbrushing instead of top coats, the paint will hardly move at all with that on it and the client won't need to top coat her french to stop it wearing.

If you prefer to use a top coat then you'll just need to check which works well, some are fine but some are horrible to use and will scratch and streak your airbrushing.
