Just spent a lovely day doing a shoot for British Vogue. Nothing unusual about this but what made it more enjoyable than usual is that Dawn (one of the co-creators of Minx) came over from California with some 'bespoke' designs!
The designs were 'designed' to be layered and gave an amazing choice of fashion accessories!
OMG! How fabulous! Look out for them in the magazine in a few months time.
I've been Minxing my toes for a while now but I must admit I now have Minxed fingers! I Minxed a junior member of true British R&R royalty earlier in the week but am so impressed with the layering choices.
So, the main purpose of this thread is to make a point of emphasising the importance of training and, more importantly, the subsequent practising! This is a professional service (not retail) and does work beautifully if the correct steps are followed.
Like all professional services, understanding of the product is essential. Yes, it looks simple and it IS simple but only when there is understanding of what is going on.
So many people think "I can do that" and skip training or reading instructions properly (my own retail brand is simplicity itself but only if instructions are followed!)
As a totally impartial viewpoint, Minx can give techs something new and exciting to their clients and a 'point of difference' from other salons.
I will certainly be using the technique where relevant especially now I know I can customise them and use my own creativity make them unique.
