Hi,

I think i am about to book some local training in Acrylic and gel nails with training solutions who use the Salon systems products. Well, its between them and CND which i know are probably better but are alot more expensive and i need to take a model with me which i dont have.

Has anyone ever used their products or trained with them?

The course looks good and does 1 day manicure and another 5 on acrylic and gels im just a little worried of parting with the money and the product being no good or hard to use...

i really couldnt tell you about the training they give but ive used/use salon systems products and i find then really easy to use.

I no that dont help too much but i thought id let you know :)

I'm not a nail geek but I would suggest going with CND. They are the industry leaders for a reason, and they are also known by your clients ... the Creative (now CND) brand sells itself, people know they are getting a quality product and service.

They are more expensive in the short term, but the cost of initially training in an inferior product and then converting later on will cost more. And of course with a more expensive brand you get to charge more for better products, better service etc.

If you need a model for nails training are you sure you don't have a friend you could take? Or put a post on a site like Salon Guinea Pig - Find models for practising hair, beauty and nails treatments, college courses, training courses, competitions, etc. to see if there is anyone there.

Thank you

I know CND are fab and prob the best but im not sure what road i want to go down as am just starting up and intend on running a mobile nail and lash extension business around my 2 toddlers.
Until i did some research i never knew the best products etc and I think the clients i will have will be looking at the price rather than product... but i obiously want good results..
I have used some of salon systems lotions etc but i really dont know what their acrylics are like... ?

xx:rolleyes:

Have you looked into NSI training?

There really reasonably prices and fab system to use :)

i find salon systems acrylic is much like NSI to use

I would recomend cnd definately i used to use salon systems and the product was ok but after traing with cnd and using their products there is no comparison i find the l&p easier to use and the spa manicure/pedicure range is really nice. I found the layout of the training much easier to learn because the l&p is 5 days spread out so it gives you time to practise between training days. I originally did a course over 3 days and did all nail systems i found it far too much information to cope with especialy if you have no knowledge like me when starting out. hope this helps you make your choice

Hey, I understand totally the money worry with little ones to provide for too (have 3 under 5) Is it a huge price differance? I did my training with CND, I have used star nails and nsi too. I love both cnd and nsi. I have only used SS pedicure products and found them nice to use. I am very very please I did my training with CDN but sometimes when money is tight its very hard.

We had Salon System products in our kit when I first trained at college. They were OK to practice with but now, I would never use then on a paying client. They are a very average product.

If you were to work out the cost per set of SS to CND, the difference would be pence and not £s.

As you're not sure what route you wish to go down at the moment, you could maybe do the l/p foundation and add on gel once you are comfortable with l/p.

I know the cost of training for CND is quite expensive compared to others but you can be sure that you are getting value for money as the training and ambassadors are at the top of the training market. You know the old saying, pay cheap pay twice!

Good luck, whatever you decide to do. x

I have looked at them but they are based up north and im in the south east so thats a no go..
Maybe i should do the CND then ..... there is also a salon that do evening classes in Ez flo but they train in manicure/pedicure, acrylic and gel which is great but VERY VERY expensive...

I cant comment on the salon systems, but have trained with various companies and most recently CND. I would be 100% honest with you here and say CND for me have been the best. the tuition, the support , the after care and the ongoing help and advice for me have been the making of me as a nail tech.

Look I have had to repay for further courses because the first lot of training i had was poor. If you are looking for value for money, then choose well, choose once.

Have at think, make some calls, ask lots of question of potential companies and then decide. I wont go anywhere else other than CND now because I learnt the hard way.

best of luck to you chick, and let us know what you decide!

I trained with CND but I have used Salon System acrylic and would never recommend them!! Nails were lifting within hours. They are ok to practise with but they are more of a DIY brand. I think that anything you can buy from a wholesalers without being trained is bound to be rubbish. CND only let you buy their products if you have trained with them. They wouldn't want someone using they're name if they haven't been trained properly.

I have tried all they brands going and wouldn't recommend anyone other than CND. They are there to help you after training as well, you can call for help and advise whenever.
Hope that helps

I wud agree with Vikkicnd.. I have trained with Salon System and CND... Salon system use a day for manicure an teach u 4 systems in 4 days.. absolutley no way is that enough for 4 systems !!!!!!!! and their products r not veyr good at all !!! major lifitng goin on within a day or so !!!

Trained with CND and it was like night an day.. indepth training on PREP.. an the L & P was a pleasure to use.. an i get minimal lifting now... so CND all the way !!!

IF u do the SAlon Sytem training... u will end up doin CND or some other company's training :-( As i did.. coz it just wasnt happening....

You could do a course with EZ Flow as they are another top brand. They also offer payment plans so this may be better for you :)
