I have to post this -

just yesterday evening I had a visit from a 'client' who wished to discuss skin care. As soon as she walked into reception I knew she was a rep, (and I use the term loosely). She began by trying to educate me on skin care to which she pulled out some product literature - it was Arbonne!

I was polite (after all she is only trying to make a living), and felt somewhat sorry for her. From what she was discussing with me it was clear she really did not have much knowledge regarding skin health. I asked her about her background and queried what she actually knew about skin, to which her reply was - 'not that much really'. I think she was aware that she was not going to be able to 'blag' it. She was way out of her depth - of all the places she decided to try to educate - she had to pick a skin clinic! She then asked my opinion on how to approach beauty salons and therapists - to which I advised IMO, I did not feel reputable salons would really be interested. I have to say, again, I did really feel for her.

My point is, as has already been raised, any jo public can purchase these products and begin attempting to market them, with admittedly - very little or no knowledge of skin care at all! This neither makes good business sense and to my mind, totally undermines the validity of the product! This is no pofessional product.

ok guys, thanks for your contribution.

I can't believe the response about Arbonne. We are talking about the product which if fabulous, free of chemicals, based on botanicals, not tested on animals, free of mineral oil, free of parabens (linked to the breast cancer!)created by best botanists in the world, vegan approved, less than 1% of preservatives etc... but what is most important: It is very effective, it does what it says on the label!!!

And another thing ... how can you say that the company is not ethical if you know NOTHING!!! about it. What are your ethics ??? Are you using a brand which products are free of chemicals which have not been tested on animals and that brands gives lots of money to the charity - that’s what I call good ethics. Arbonne gave away millions !!! 75% of the registration fee goes to the Red Cross !!! Arbonne by being a network marketing company can produce best possible products at affordable process for their clients!!! Do you honestly think that choosing products for your business only because you liked the company's advertising campaign or because they do not have minimal start up order is ethical???

And all that nonsense about multi level marketing ... why don't you read "The next millioners" or The New Professionals. Do you think that Warren Buffett -the second richest man in America, who bought the multi level company and thought that it was his best investment ever, should have listened to YOU.
If you don’t like the brand for whatever reason that’s fine - it is your choice but don’t discourage people from using a very good product only because in the past an old fashion multi level company created us a very bad reputation.

You're bound to have THAT opinion being as you're a consultant for them!!!

At the end of the day FACTS are indeed FACTS, the company is MLM (multi level marketing aka pyramid selling) and if you want to be involved with that then it's your choice, what we shouldn't do is hide that information from anyone who wants to get involved...

...although, doing a Google search makes for some very interesting reading

I have never used Arbonne but have been approached by a rep and purely on the basis that you do not have to be a skin/beauty specialist to use it rules it it out with a big fat no. Good luck if they are ethical and donate their profits to charity - good for them. Regarding Warren Buffet he knows what he can make money out of and this type of selling programme makes money!

There is no way I would ever buy this product. One of the Consultants hounded me in all different ways for me to join and I have no interest now, and never will.

I have no idea what they were doing at Olympia Beauty. No-one was on the stand except the Exibitors themselves!:)

I had never heard about this brand untill I got caught and cornered at Olympia beauty!

Instant alarm bells went off when i was told nothing about the products just a jibe about how the 'consultant' "had neverbeen able to use anything on her skin untill she discovered Arbonne" she put a few pumps on my hand then went on to try to get me to become a consultant. She then called over someone else who did a whole lot of celebrity name dropping and how wonderfull she was ad how I should becme a consultant.

I was there for at least 20mins trying to get away becoming increasingly hungry ....all i could think about was my lunch! I swiched off and cant remember wha else I was told....but one thing for sure, no mention of products, what they do, how they work etc...

I dont like the fact just anyone can become a seller, no knowledge jusa money making scheme.

At Olympia I was instantly put off, I dont appreciate someone giving the big I am, when I am a highly experienced professional myself. :)

I have used the products as my friend invited me to an Arbonne party at her house.

Up until this point I had not really heard of them. I personally though they were the same as body shop at home that kind of thing.

I tried the vitamin C cleansers and the rest of the range and it is the first time ever that I have reacted to ingredients. The consultant has said she is going to mention it as I had bad stinging when I used the night cream.

I dont have sensitive skin to products I have touch/environmentally sensitive skin and it was not being particularly sensitive when I tried the products. It is nice that they have lots of botanical products and thing like that in them but I cant say I had the chance to try them for a long time.

There doesnt seem to be much choice for different skin types and I wonder if I am that sensitive how other people will react too so I made the decision not to use it in a professional sense. I have to be 100% sure it will work on my skin as I am a client too.

My friend also had a reaction to the body moisturiser so personally that sent alarm bells going about the products. Maybe just a co incidence but it put me off.

Sorry I havent had a very positive experience with Arbonne and I did look into it as a therapist and becoming a consultant. I just couldnt sell it with confidence that it works. My friend however seems to think its great!

Maybe not much help but this is my experience

Someone in my husbands office is is a rep for Arbonne and as far as I'm aware she has no beauty therapy experience. She has been hounding him for a while now for my number. Well I got a phone call on Friday on my business mobile which she obviously found online, not hard really. I felt like I had to say yes to meeting her as she works in the same building as hubby but I'm really not interested in becoming a rep. Apart from my own skin I have no skincare knowledge and would feel like a fraud trying to sell this. I'll go along and meet her but will just have to say straight it's not for me.

I feel it an insult to all our hard work training and knowledge, people are signed up as 'reps' and try to 'teach' us about skin care!!!!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRRR

I was demoing as part of a sports massage team at a convention in the States this summer and they had a booth next to us, I had a noisy whilst in between demos and when she found out I was also an aesthetician she went if for the hard sell but I politely told her I only use proffesional products. Whilst I was there nobody signed up for it in 2 days

Funnily enough just opposite her was the housewives favourite the Mary Kay booth and the area leader who did have the Mary Kay Pink Cadi parked in the lot, so she and her ladies was obviously raking it in.

I was signed up for this last year, I rented space in a salon and the business owner joined Arbonne. I was attracted to the products as they were sold as all natural etc and I have a lot of allergies and sensitive skin. Also the promise of making lots of money! I bought a range of products and over time tried them all but my opinion is that they are no better than a cosmoceutical brand my dermatologist recommended that you can buy in Boots. The RE9 advanced products actually produced a severe reaction and damaged the skin on my face. It took a good couple of weeks to calm down. I don't think they are worth the money and I do think it reflects on the salon if that's what they are using and selling. I've been to a couple of meetings/events and it's a bit too evangelical for me. I read that it's big in the churches in the states, I can see why.

Has anyone any experience of this skincare product?

A friend of mine has just become a consultant and we are considering taking this range into the salon.

The products look fab and the business structure looks good.....would be nice to have some feedback from other users.

Cheers

Hey Lisa - a friend of mine was doing this a few years ago... was impressed by the whole 'white Mercedes' thing etc. I too tried the products and I did think they were decent. This is pyramid style selling though - just an FYI!

Think this needs closed now as it is quite an old thread.
