Balayage ombre tips, tricks, techniques

So I recently have had an influx of clients coming in wanting a heavy balayage that blends into ombre. I've been using bleach and staggering the application for softer finish and it's been going great, but I'm finding that I'm not getting a fine enough line, the bleach seems to be bleeding in spots as well. I was wondering if anyone had a trick to keep the lines clean or a specific brush they like to use. I feel like a typical tint brush is too thick even when I angle it and feather it up the strand. It's still a bit too blunt looking....

Have you mixed your bleach thick ? Like toothpaste that helps
