Hi there,
I want to get a qualification in Beauty in Dublin & was wonder if anyone could recomend a reputable school/college? I've looked at the portobello institute? Also if anyone could recommend either CIBTAC or ITEC? I'm new to the industry so would appreciate any input!

Hi,
I'm doing the ITEC beauty specialist course at the mo and I'm finding it brilliant, hard work though you'd have to be dedicated :),also ITEC is known worldwide so you cant go wrong with that, and if the portobello institute is offering ITEC then it has to be a reliable college.
Hth,

i studied with Bronwyn Conroy in Blackrock It took 9 months one sat a month with a CIBTAC Cert i loved it and wouldnt change a thing about what i done im thinking of going back to get my CIBTAC AP + M

Bronwyn Conroy School & Beauty Salon - Dublin , Ireland

I felt i left with the highest standard and anyone i know who had salons when i said i wanted to train said they would be more likely to call someone with CIBTAC to interview then ITEC
No offence to anyone with ITEC but what she siad helped me make up my mind

crumlin college of further education, and dun laoighaire college of further education both have beauty courses and you do both cibtac and itec.Im nearly finished yr1 in carlow cfe and its fantastic as good if not better than some of the private colleges.

The qualification you get is more important than where you got it. When I am interviewing for a new beauty therapist some experience helps too, so see if your college will place you in a work experience situation would be my advice.

I hope this helps.
